Colby Chamberlain, DO

Bio

Dr. Chamberlain is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Master of Arts in Bioethics before attending medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. She then completed a residency at UPMC, earning the UPMC Internal Medicine Intern of the Year award in 2012 and the I. Arthur Mirsky Award in 2014. She joined the University of Pittsburgh faculty in 2014 and has worked on quality improvement initiatives related to central line placement and infection in addition to her clinical duties.

Alan Domat, MD

Bio

Dr. Domat is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. Before joining the University of Pittsburgh faculty in 2015, Dr. Domat conducted research on NSTEMI management at the Heart and Vascular Institute in Pittsburgh, as well as on brain tumor suppression in the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Neurology.

Amanda Lenhard, MD

Bio

Dr. Lenhard is a Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine and Chief of Medicine at UPMC Shadyside. She earned her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine before completing her Internal Medicine residency at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, OH. Following residency, she worked as a hospitalist for Community Hospitalists LLC in Ohio, also serving as their Director of Quality from 2010-2012. She then served as Medical Director of the Rapid Observation Unit at Cleveland Clinic’s Avon Hospital and Chief of Hospital Medicine at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She joined the faculty at UPMC Shadyside in 2020, bringing extensive experience in hospital leadership, quality improvement, and hospital medicine.

Muaz Aijazi, MD

Dr. Aijazi is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine UPMC Shadyside Hospital. He attended Batterjee Medical College for Health Sciences and Technology. His career will focus on Quality improvement and communication in health care. He is fluent in my languages. He reveived many award and recognitions during his residency. He enjoys many hobbies including sports and family time.

Sarah Arnold, MD

Bio

Dr. Arnold is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. She earned her medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine before completing her residency in internal medicine at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside. She also completed additional coursework in public health and sociology. She then taught General and Organic Chemistry for the University of Pittsburgh before joining the medical faculty in 2017. Dr. Arnold is primarily based at Shadyside and has both clinical and teaching responsibilities.

Zachary Bugos, DO

Bio

Dr. Bugos is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. He attended medical school at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing a residency in internal medicine at UPMC Mercy. He specializes in wilderness medicine, having completed a fellowship at the Academy of Wilderness Medicine and providing guest lectures at several medical schools. He is active in several hospital committees and has a wide range of research interests. Dr. Bugos is also active in the community, volunteering with the Allegheny County Search & Rescue, Special Olympics, and the Pittsburgh Marathon.

Leslie Dongell, MD

Bio

Dr. Dongell is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. She earned her MD at the University of South Florida before completing internal medicine residencies at Allegheny General Hospital and Western Pennsylvania Hospital. Before joining the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh in 2017, she worked as a hospitalist in FL and PA. She is an experienced educator, having served on several education committees and regularly presenting to medical staff and residents. Dr. Dongell also volunteers extensively in the community, partnering with several organizations.

Priyanka Jagar, MD

Dr. Jagar is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. She earned her medical degree at Subharati Medical College before completing a residency in internal medicine at UPMC McKeesport in Pittsburgh, PA. Before joining the University of Pittsburgh faculty in 2017, she assisted with research related to gastroenterology and breast cancer.

Nishanie Jayawardena, MD

Dr. Jayawardena is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine UPMC Shadyside Hospital. She attended St. James School of Medicine in Anguilla after receiving her BA in Psychology from CUNY-Hunter College, New York. She is fluent in many languages. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, cooking and learning and many different cultures and languages.
Lindsey Kowalski, MD

Dr. Kowalski is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. She earned her medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine before completing her internal medicine residency at UPMC. Dr. Kowalski has conducted research focused on evaluating the infrastructure, needs, and accessibility of telerehabilitation to better serve patients with disabilities. She also worked with the Philadelphia Collaborative Violence Prevention Center to design, implement, and evaluate community sustaining programs that enhance resiliency and reduce the frequency and impact of youth violence, injury, and death.

Jameel Masood, MD

Dr. Masood is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine UPMC Shadyside Hospital. He attended American University of Integrative Sciences, St. Maarten after receiving his bachelors degree in biology from Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY . His career will focus evidence based medicine leading to positive outcomes in patients.

Stephanie Miller, DO

Dr. Miller is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. She attended medical school at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and then completed her internal medicine residency at UPMC Shadyside, earning the UPMC Internal Medicine Intern of the Year Award in 2014. She joined the University of Pittsburgh faculty in 2016 and has worked on many quality improvement initiatives which better serve the patients.
Rohan Naik, MD

Bio

Dr. Naik is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. After earning his medical degree from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, he completed his residency in internal medicine at UPMC McKeesport, serving as Chief Resident from 2010-2011. He joined the University of Pittsburgh faculty in 2011 and has been recognized multiple times for his exemplary patient care and teaching abilities. Dr. Naik has also conducted research focusing on patients diagnosed with malignant melanoma and breast cancer. In his clinical role, he helped develop an orthopedic consult service and continues to serve as an active member on several hospital committees focused on patient care.

Rachel Naramore, MD

Dr. Naramore is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. She attended medical school at the University of Florida College of Medicine before completing her internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. During her residency, she pursued the Health Disparities Track, which aims to foster knowledge and sensitivities necessary for serving a diverse populace, with special emphasis on cultural and social factors that contribute to health inequities. She also volunteered with the PATH Clinic and Equal Access Clinic, both of which provided free care to underserved populations. She has also conducted research and presented on the link between adverse childhood experiences and sexually trafficked adults, and causes of mortality in lung transplantation for COPD patients.

Anna Manukyan Nasse, MD

Dr. Nasse is a Clinical Instructor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. She attended medical school at Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University before working in private clinical practice in New York. She joined the University of Pittsburgh faculty in 2017 after completing her residency in internal medicine at UPMC Mercy. Dr. Nasse has also recently conducted research focused on salmonella fasciitis and DKA, and previously served as a member of the United States-Russia project on advancing theory and knowledge in public health sciences on global health issues.

Christienne Shams, MD

Dr. Shams is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. She attended medical school at Oakland University’s William Beaumont School of Medicine before completing an internal medicine residency at Beaumont Health in Michigan, where she earned multiple Resident of the Month awards. Dr. Shams has extensive research experience in gastroenterology, biomechanics, pneumonia, liver failure, and hospital discharges, and has earned several awards for her presentations. She joined the University of Pittsburgh faculty in 2020 and works primarily at UPMC Shadyside.

Dr. Zisko is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine and staff hospitalist in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree in neuroscience and attended medical school at the University of Pittsburgh before completing his residency at UPMC Shadyside. He joined the University of Pittsburgh faculty in 2006 and has clinical interests in both internal medicine and geriatrics. Since 2014, he has served as the Director of Hospital Medicine at UPMC Shadyside in addition to serving on the ACT, Medical Records, and Medical Executive committees. He has also served on many quality improvement committees.

Michael Bracalento, PA-C is a Physician Assistant in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. He earned both his BS Health Science and Master of Physician Assistant Science (MPAS) from Gannon University in Erie, PA. Before joining the UPMC Shadyside hospitalist team, he worked as an EMT and a hospitalist APP at UPMC Hamot in Erie. He serves as an integral part of the hospitalist team, caring for patients with varying levels of acuity. Outside of the clinical environment, Michael serves as Lieutenant of the West Lake Fire Department and as a member of the National Ski Patrol.

Christina Fiindlay, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant in the Section of Hospital Medicine at UPMC Shadyside. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Gannon University in 2014 and 2015, respectively, before working as a hospitalist APP at Meadville Medical Center. She joined the UPMC team in 2020 and brings experience in internal medicine, family medicine, general surgery, and pediatrics. Megan Freyer, MSN/FNP, CRNP is a Nurse Practitioner in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. She earned her BSN and MSN from the University of Pittsburgh in 2006 and 2014, respectively. She joined the Abdominal Transplant Unit at UPMC Montefiore in 2006 as an RN, then moved to the hospitalist team at UPMC Shadyside in 2014, where she currently serves as the APP Supervisor. In addition to the extensive experience she brings to her clinical responsibilities, Megan is also active on several hospital committees, including the Patient Safety Committee, Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, Allied Health Professionals Credentialing Subcommittee, and UPMC Office of Advanced Practice Provider Clinical Career Ladder Governing Council.

Courtney Liko, PA-C is a Physician Assistant in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Section of Hospital Medicine. Before joining the hospitalist team at UPMC Shadyside in 2018, she earned her BS Health Science and Master of Physician Assistant Science degrees at Gannon University and worked as a Hospitalist PA at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville. She is able to work in a team-based approach to provide patient care, and has practiced as both a nocturnist and daytime APP. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she is also involved in the Rx Express discharge subcommittee, working to increase the utilization of Hillman to fill patient’s medications prior to discharge, helping to increase medication compliance and decrease readmission rate. Courtney is also an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM).
